Elizabeth will be 18 months old on February 17th! She continues to surprise us everyday. She is such a chatter box!! Some of her favorite words or phrases are: bath, bed, no, mama, ada or dada, coco (for Dakota), hot, cheese, crackers, milk, more, done, open the door (which really sounds like opendoooor), coco come here (while patting her leg), up, down, baby, hi, juice, yummy, outside, go, night night, AND she has even started to repeat the ABC's...she only gets as far as A B Ccccc, but she is trying. We are so amazed at how much she is learning and observing.
She definitely has her moments of frustration, especially when she can not open something or have something. We have found that it really helps to look her in the eye and just talk her through the situation. She responds really well. She really understands everything and I mean everything we ask of her or say to her. When she loses her cup or crackers I will ask her to go find them or whatever toy she may be looking for and she amazes us when she brings it right to us. She likes to clean and put things in the trash. And, she really likes to sing and dance. Daddy likes to listen to CMT (go figure) and she will come running (as if there is any other way!!) to hear the song and start dancing. She really likes the Gary Allan song "Watching Airplanes" and the Taylor Swift song "Our Song".
Some other things that she really likes to do right now are pretend play and reading books! She loves to play with her baby doll, and pretend to give it a bottle or food. She will play with all her plastic food and dishes and bring a spoonful for mommy or daddy to try...then says "yummy". She seems to read books to herself all the time. We are not allowed to read less than two books before bedtime. She has memorized what is on each page and will sometimes say or point to the same things. Oh, and she has really taken a liking to The Wiggles and Dora the Explorer. The Wiggles come on at 7am in the morning when she is usually having her milk and she LOVES to start her day with some of their songs :)
I can't believe that she is already half way to her second birthday!! No telling what the next 6 months have in store for us :) Here are a few recent pictures or Elizabeth.
